Hi I'm Dusty

I'm a husband, I'm a father, I'm a hunter, I'm a woodworker, I'm a physician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of two beautiful girls. I am a physician and am currently doing a residency in neurosurgery. With what little time my profession leaves me, I enjoy spending time with my family, doing things outdoors, and fine woodworking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nevertheless, I have evaluated the reasons why I continue to be an active member of the Mormon church many times. As a student of science and the natural world, the scientific method and need for proof through experimentation has been ingrained in my mind. I have performed the experiment of living the gospel of Jesus Christ and found it to lead to more happiness than when I have failed to live the teachings of Christ. I want to challenge others to do the experiment of living the teachings of Jesus and objectively evaluate the amount of happiness they experience. I know they will experience an increase in their joy, find renewed purpose, and improve their circumstances.

How I live my faith

As a physician, I have been blessed with the opportunity to care for the physical well-being of many people. As I provide care I try to remember to follow the example of the ultimate physician, Jesus Christ, who cares for the physical as well as the spiritual well-being of all. Though I am far from perfect, I know that in trying to emulate the Savior I find renewed compassion, increased insight, and am able to provide better care for my patients.
