Hi I'm Brigette.

I am from Queen Creek, Arizona. I am an 8th Grade History Teacher. I married my best friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent the past several years as a college student. I feel blessed to have graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education. I am in my first year teaching 8th grade history. I love working with the youth. I love being able to help connect the past with the present and to open windows of learning and opportunity. I had the opportunity to learn and now speak the beautiful Lithuanian language. I have created many wonderful friendships with those who speak this language. I married my best friend a year and a half ago. I love traveling with my husband. We recently bought our first home. This has instilled a love for decorating as well as making delicious food in my new kitchen.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know God answers prayers. The Book Of Mormon issues a challenge to read and pray about the truth of its teachings. I have read the Book of Mormon and knelt down in earnest prayer. I did not recieve an answer while on my knees. However, in the coming days as I continued to read and act upon the teachings found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ I knew within my very heart the truthfulness of the Gospel. I knew Christ's church which had been established during His life had been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I knew the Book of Mormon was God's word. I have lived according to the principles of the Gospel for many years now. I am continually blessed with the assurance and knowledge that God loves me and that I am a member of His church. The blessings of the Gospel have helped me in my every day life. Life brings many challenges. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have found the peace and optimism to endure and rise above these challenges. When I kneel in prayer I know that God is near. He listens to my prayers and I feel His loves for me. I know without a doubt that He answers every prayer. Some answers come immdeiately while on my knees, but I have found that most of His answers are while I am working and serving others. His answers are not always mine, but the peace that accompanies is unmistakeable and gives me the courage to act. It is through these answers that I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know He has made it possible for me to repent of my sins and become clean. I know the teachings in the Book of Mormon are leading me back into the loving arms of my Savior and Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

One of the principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that strongly resonates within me is the principle of service. We are given daily opportunities to serve and strengthen those around us. We are asked to live as the Savior lived. There is no greater reward than giving of ones time to those around them. This service is given to members of our faith as well as to neighbors and friends not of our faith. One example of how I live my faith is the opportunity I am given to reach out to other women in my community. We visit together, serve one another, uplift and strengthen in any way we can. This opportunity has created many special friendships in my life. It brings us together and creates a sense of unity amongst one another. Life's challenges do not have to be met alone. I also have the special priviledge of participating in my community as someone who fellowships visitors and members of my ward. I love being able to make new friends and serve those whom I come in contact with. I am blessed to be able to share and answer questions about the gospel to friends and neighbors of other faiths.
