Hi I'm Emily

I'm a fifth generation Arizonan. I'm a daughter, sister and a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona. I love the beautiful desert and the hot weather. I am the oldest of eight children. My family members are my best friends. We love spending time together. Our favorite time of the week is Sunday dinner, when everyone gathers for a great meal. We will sit at the table for hours after we are done eating just talking and laughing together. I am a teacher. I love working with children. It is wonderful to watch children grow and devevlop skills over the school year. I learn so much from their unique personalities and their inante ability to love and look our for all that surround them. I love to travel. Meeting new people, encountering new cultures and exploring in new places is so exciting. I love to hike and run. I love to be crafty and make new things with my hands. Of course it is always nice to relax with my family and enjoy a movie every once in a while.

Why I am a Mormon

I am proud to say I am a Mormon. In this world of shifting values and decreasing morality, the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me a strong foundation. I know where I cam from, I know why I am here and I know where I will go once this life is over. This knowledge gives me purpose. Life can be challenging, but with my knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father, I know I am never alone. I can do whatever is asked of me with the help of the Lord.

How I live my faith

My faith is embedded in everything I do. I attend Family Home Evening on Monday nights where I meet with fellow young single adults we learn new skills, play games and have a chance to socialize and build eachother up. On Thursdays I attend Institute where I am able to take a class to study the scriptures and afterward socialize with my peers. Sunday is reserved for attending church, serving and spending time with my family. Sunday is my favorite day of the week. It is the one day where the stresses of work are set aside and I can be uplifted by the messages I hear at church and the time I can spend with family. In my ward I have the calling of planning monthly acitvities for all the women in the ward to pariticapte in. We plan craft nights, financial planning nights, first aid instrution, and service acitivities just to name a few. It is nice to spend one night a month with other women where we can learn together. I also am a visiting teacher. Besides the programs I attend, I live my faith by keeping high standards. I believe in staying morally clean. I refrain from consuming addictive foods and drink. I strive to be honest and kind in all my dealings with others. Making the decision to live this way has been a positive influence on me as trials and temptations come my way.
