Hi I'm Melvin

I'm a Student. I'm a Husband. I'm a Wrestler. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am interested in pursuing a hobby as a blacksmith. I enjoy spending time with animals namely my two miniature Dachshunds. As far as outdoors adventures I enjoy riding my bike, swimming and spending time on the beach. I also spend to much time playing videos games and talking to family on the phone. I am now also getting my prerequisites done so I can go to school for Prosthetic and Orthotics.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. I was raised in a small town in southeast Idaho. I never really followed the teachings of the Gospel my whole life growing up. Being Mormon was just part of the territory or lifestyle of growing up there. I went to church every Sunday. I went through high school getting good grades, playing sports, the normal high school routine. After graduating from high school I didn't go on a mission instead I spent the summer working and then went off to the west coast to go to school and wrestle. I stopped going to church and continued to deviate from what I knew and felt was right. As time went on I could feel myself becoming a person that had lost something valuable. I couldn't feel happiness in things that used to bring me joy. At this time in my life I met and gravitated towards an amazing woman. She let me borrow her light and feel happiness flow back into my soul. To spend more time with her I started going back to church and forgot why I left in the first place. I felt the warmth and happiness of the people every time I went. I began to pray more often and more thoughtfully. I know the church and its teaching are true. I know you can be atoned for through repentance. I know that Jesus Christ was a living person that atoned for the sins of the world. I know his church has been restored and a living Prophet leads it today. I know families can be together forever and that you never have to miss the ones you love. I feel the gospel everyday in my life. I will never forget the truths that I had lost once but never plan to lose again.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I teach a great group of 14-15 year old kids that seem to know the scriptures better then me sometimes, alright it is most of the time. I enjoy the time I spend with them and we get to discuss the scriptures and eat treats that my wife makes us.
