Hi I'm Joan

I grew up in a wonderful family. We lived in Lakeside, AZ, a town my great grandfather helped to establish. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My life revolves around my family and faith. My favorite people in the world are my family and friends at church. I feel very blessed to associate with fabulous people. My life and entertainment has been attending our kids sporting events and music concerts. Watching them grow is very gratifying and fun. They are becoming beautiful people. I like sewing and have learned to like gardening. I love music and have enjoyed watching my children gain that love also. I have been substituting at area schools and it has been enlightening and interesting to get out of my little world. There are so many wonderful people that give so much to help other people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and I am very grateful to have a legacy of great faith on all sides of my family. I think everyone at some point in their lives has to decide if what they have been raised to believe is something they believe in too. Even though I was raised a Mormon I have come to know for myself through faith trying experiences and a lot of prayer that this is God's true church and that Jesus Christ did live and atone for our sins. The Holy Ghost has reaffirmed these truths to me many times.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by the way I live my life. This includes the way I spend my time and resources as well as the way I treat others. I try to remember that everyone is a child of God. I have been grateful for opportunities to serve in the church with children, youth and adults. All people of all ages need love and understanding. I have especially enjoyed the times I have been able to go to Girl's Camp with the 12 - 18 year old girls. You can really get to know and love the girls when you spend several days with them. The youth of this church are amazing. I also can serve God by the way I teach and love my family. Family is central to God's plan for us and my family is so very important to me.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

We believe that this life is only part of our existence. My Mother recently died and while I am very sad for myself because I miss her, I am very happy for her and that she no longer suffers in a cancer filled body. She lived a beautiful life and was a wonderful example of patience and charity. Because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and because I know Jesus died and was resurrected, I have no doubt that I will continue my association with her when I pass on. I know that we will all be resurrected and have the opportunity to be with those we love again. Show more Show less
