Hi I'm Sue

I am a wife, grandma, mother, special education teacher at a middle school, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a stay at home mom, and loved being there with my children as they grew and discovered. I volunteered in their classrooms and found joy in seeing the light of understanding in the eyes of the students. So when unemployment affected our home, my husband, Steve, and I went back to school to become teachers. It has been 12 years, and I still love to see the excited looks when student grasp a concept. I love having grandchildren! There is such peace in seeing how my children parent. It is amazing how the scriptures can help us with parenting and teaching.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church in Bermuda before I was born, so I was raised in the church. However, when I was 17 a young man I was friends with challenged me to investigate other churches. I attended several churches, but they never felt right. I then spent more time reading the Book of Mormon, and prayed with all my heart to know for sure it was all true. My heart was filled with so much joy and love. Words can not express the emotions I felt. I know Jesus knows me by name and loves me. I know he is my Savior. I know Heavenly Father has a plan for me, and will never leave me alone.

How I live my faith

I currently work with the sisters in the ward. I have taught children of all ages in the church. I don't think I could choose one assignment or calling as a favorite because each one has helped me learn and grow so much. There is always more to learn in life. I truly believe we are all life long learners. I have a special feeling for those with special needs; I know they are special spirits sent here for us to learn from. Learning to organize my time to balance all that is important is always a challenge for me, but as long as I seek the Lord's help it all works out.
