Hi I'm Wendy

I am a wife, a mother of 4 children, a kindergarten teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for over 28 years. I have four wonderful children who fill my life everyday with joy and laughter! I have a masters degree in education and I keep busy teaching kindergarten and keeping up with my children's activities. As a family my children grew up racing motorcycles throughout Arizona and and the southwest. We enjoyed travelling together and this time together allowed us to be very close as a family. Now that my boys are grown and in college they do not race motorcycles anymore. But, we still enjoy doing things together as a family. We will often be found in our livingroom in the evening laughing and talking about things going on in each others lives and reminiscing about the days of travelling and racing together. Now that my sons are older and attending college and have jobs, a lot of focus is on my youngest child, my daughter who is in high school. We attend games to watch her cheer and we also all pitch in to help her raise her veal calf for her FFA project in high school. I have experienced much joy from watching my children grow up and being a part of their life each and every day. But, this time in my life also allows for me to spend more time with my husband and we are thoroughly enjoying date night each Saturday night! We will often be found going to a favorite restaurant and then to the movies, but we also enjoy taking walks in the evening. My family is very dear to me and bring me much joy, my life is full!

Why I am a Mormon

When I grew up in Tucson, Arizona my mother took us to many different churches throught Tucson. I think that I have attended almost every single type of church available in that area. My mother wanted us to find a church that made us happy. For two years we attended a baptist church near our home. Then when I was 14 years old my family moved to Eagar, Arizona. In Eagar I met many new friends who were Mormon. They invited me to attend church and various activities with them. I soon began taking the lessons from the missionaries. Everything that I learned from the missionaries reinforced one thing that I had been looking for. After all of my experiences of attending various churches one thing that kept coming back was that Christ was here upon the earth and he established His Church. I knew that to be true, but where was it! After taking the missionary lessons, I found that true Church! I knew it in my heart! Unfortunately at that time my parents did not allow me to join the Church. But, I continued to attend Sacrament meetings, Mutual activities for kids 12 years old and older, and any activity that they would have. Then, three years later my family moved to Coolidge. It was my senior year of high school and I tell my children that three great things happened to me there, I made straight A's because I had no friends, I made the state track team, and I met my future husband! But really, four great things happened to me there, my husband was a Mormon and I found the Church again! After I married my husband, I began taking the missionary lessons again and I was finally baptized! It was seven years after I had originally taken the missionary lessons, but I finally was baptized and the joy in my heart and the peace that I felt was overwhelming! I had looked and waited for so long, and I finally had the Church in my life. I was a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I am currently the President of our women's organization in the church, which is the Relief Society. I have the opportunity to visit sister's in our ward every week. Some sisters are doing wonderfully and serve faithfully, some sisters are ill and are struggling at this time. I help bring in meals, clean their home, or just take the time to sit and visit with them. I have nine sisters that I visit teach each month. I love visiting teaching and the joy that it brings to my life. I serve these sisters each month by bringing in a gospel message, checking to see if they have any needs and anything that I can help with. I go into their homes to help them, but they help me so much more! When I visit them they share with me how they have the strength to endure struggles in their lives, choices that they make that allow them to draw closer to their Heavenly Father, through our visits they help me know how to endure struggles in my own life. They also help me see all the many different ways that my Heavenly Father helps me each and every day! I know that my Heavenly Father knows me personally and he hears my prayers. As I serve my Heavenly Father faithfully and attend the Temple often I have experienced so much joy and love knowing that I can serve my Heavenly Father in many different ways each and every day. My calling in the Church keeps me very busy, but I am blessed to have the strength and time needed to fullfill all that I need to so that I can serve the sisters in my ward as well as meet the needs of my own family. I am truly blessed!
