Hi I'm Brian

I am a retired electrician, husband, father and grandfather. Recently called to serve as a senior full time missionary.

About Me

My name is Brian. I am 60, a husband, father of seven and granfather to 18, with one on the way. I am a retired electrician and trying each day to be "livin the dream!" I love the out of doors. The Pacific Northwest is a wonderful playground with lots to do all year round. I love working with the youth, it keeps me young at heart especially at this time and season in my life. I work as an ordinance worker in the Seattle temple. My wife and I have just been called to serve as senior couple missionaries in the Family and Church History headquarters mission in Salt Lake City for 23 months. And I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been fortunate to be born and raised in the church. It was not until I was out on my own that I truly realized that living the gospel and being active in the church was what I wanted. I thought for a short brief moment that I could not attend church and be active and no one would really know. Then I realized that eventually my parents would find out, and more importantly God (my Father in Heaven) would know. I had been raised to know the importance of being active and living the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I realized then that it really was what I not only needed, but what I wanted. I find that as I strive to each day keep the commandments and live the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ, life is just so much better. Life has more meaning, I am happier, I have reason to hope and there is great joy in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by continuing to learn and grow in the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The more I learn of him, the more I realize how much more I need to do to be more like him. The more I learn of his life I realize that one of his great gifts to me is being able to serve. I even served as a PTA President, I learned the best person for that job was a woman. No, I really enjoyed it, it was a great learning experience for me. Growing up in the church has provided me many opportunites to serve. I have been blessed to serve with the youth of the church. What a marvelous experience it is in this day and age to watch and interact with them. To see their, strengths, courage and hopes for a better and brighter future. To see their desire learn and grow and participate in all the good that life has to offer. I am retired and have been for 4 years now. I have not run out of good things to be doing. I serve as an ordinance worker in the Seattle temple. My wife and I have served as Church Service missionaries with LDS Family Services as group leaders in the Addiction Recovery Program. I have have a wonderfully beautiful wife of 40 years, seven children who spoil their dad and 18 grandchildren who all still like hugs from grandpa. I love Wholesome Recreational Family Activities.
