Hi I'm Jeremy Jenkins

I love sports. I'm a collegiate athlete. I love my family. I love The Savior. I know who I am. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved around quite a bit while I was growing up. From Utah to Nevada to Japan to Utah to California to Idaho. I would say I claim the small town in Idaho as my hometown. Though the population is just over 300, I love knowing each of those people had a part in shaping who I am today. I love playing sports. It was awesome to have the whole town at the football games, cheering and supporting us on our way to the state championship game two years in a row. My love of sports helped me get into college where I had the opportunity to play basketball for a Division III school in Minnesota. I know that without sports, I wouldn't be myself. An interesting fact about myself is I have some pretty intense scars. At age 14, I broke my arm on a go-kart. It was a bad compound fracture that led to staff infections and four surgeries. It finally was healed and I now have a metal plate in there with 13 screws. About a year later, I broke my leg in a basketball game and had a metal rod inserted into the middle of my tibia with 3 screws. However, I have not let those things drag me down. I made the most of the circumstances and kept a smile on my face. I am a people person. I love talking to everyone and trying to develop a friendship, even if I may not see that person ever again. There is nothing I enjoy more than making others happy, so I decided to serve a mission. I know I can bring happiness to others through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. We went to church every Sunday as a family. However, for the first 18 years of my life, I went through the motions of it all. When it came time to go on a mission, I realized that if I was going to try to share what I knew about the gospel, I had better have something to share. I needed my own knowledge. I began to realize I had been taking such a wonderful gift for granted. One day it all hit me. I had been going to the ONLY true church on the face of the earth my whole life. I was a member of God and our Savior's church. Knowing this changed my whole attitude. I only wish I had realized it much sooner. I feel blessed to know this and to know that God loves me. I know that he loves me enough to give us a way back to him through Jesus Christ. And the biggest reason I am a Mormon lies in the fact that Jesus Christ suffered for EVERY sin that I commit. And because of that, each one of us has the chance to live with God and our families again. I know that I need to do all that I can to be able to show how extremely thankful I am and will always be for this gift. I am a Mormon because I know it is all true.

How I live my faith

I currently live my faith by being a full-time missionary in the Australia Brisbane Mission, giving all my heart, might, mind, and strength to God. I would feel very selfish if I kept all the happiness this gospel has brought me to myself. Making others happy is what I live for. Being a Mormon is what has made me happy each and every day that I wake up. I know exactly who I am. I know how one can be blessed from the gospel of Jesus Christ, and how they can be happy. Not just any happiness either, TRUE HAPPINESS. The best way I can bring that joy to others is to share that love from our Father in Heaven.
