Hi I'm Ashley

I grew up in Kentucky. I love spending time with my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother and very proud of those titles. I met my sweetheart in college and together we have started a little family. My favorite thing to do is hang out with my family. I am also lucky to have extended family close and we enjoy spending time with them too. I have two sisters, who are my best friends. I love to do crafts. Mostly I just find other peoples ideas online and i try to copy them! I love to read a good book, but once I start it I have to finish it so it just consumes me till i am done. I also love all things water such as swimming, the lake, the ocean etc. I am also trying to further my education through online courses. It is so hard to find the time to do all of the things I love but I am trying to figure it out!

Why I am a Mormon

I guess that I started out being mormon because I was born into a mormon family. When I was younger I knew of Christ and all of the things that I had been taught about him, but I also knew that I wanted and needed to know for myself that this church was true and that being mormon was the right thing for me. All those around me were very supportive and encouraging of me to do this. I spent time studying the scriptures and pondering. My real answers came to me though through prayer. I prayed to Heavenly Father about the church and felt overwgelming peace and reassurance about this gospel. As I get older I realize more and more the love I have for this church also has a lot to do with all that the church supports such as marriage, family, and just all around good values. These things have meant so much to me and come to mean even more as I have children of my own. I am grateful for the direction that I feel that I have and knowing what I want my life to be. I think having that direction helps me in ALL the decisions I have to make, which in turn means my life is full of a lot of peace.

How I live my faith

I take my family to church every Sunday. I love that my even my three year old knows the routine and looks forward to going to church. She learns so much from her teachers in her little class that she goes to. We try to talk abut it at home too. Our kids are very little so it will consist of every now and then showing pictures of Jesus and talking about praying. Sometimes it is just even little talks on sharing, which at this age we could probably hear on a frequent basis! I also help organize activities for the women in the church and community. We try to meet at least once a month and it is just a way we can get together as women and learn, serve others and become better friends. It is so much fun. We will sometimes plan big dinner get togethers or just a little class on sewing or cooking or other things that the ladies may want to learn. We try to find things to help all the women feel like they are growing, learning and overall just enriching their lives. I really believe that is is so important for us to keep growing to better ourselves. Also I think that as women we just enjoy getting together and helping and learning form each other or just to talk! As a stay at home mom I look forward to getting out sometimes and talking to other women!
