Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a mother of boys. I love to travel. I love sports. I love to read. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

Some of my most favorite things are watching sports with my family on Saturday, reading a good book, finishing a long run, playing made up games and competitions, and laughing with friends. I love the Fall when Saturdays are filled with college football and my boys soccer games. I also love to hike and have a dream of climbing Mt. Rainier someday. I used to think I would run a marathon, but now I might just have to stick with halves. I love to travel and have been through Europe and much of the United States. I have high hopes of visiting friends in China, Germany, and Australia before any of them move! I graduated in Public Relations and I still love personal interest news stories. I am the mother of all boys.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith has been strengthened through many different experiences in my life. One of the most defining moments came when I lived in Philadelphia newly married. We were across the country from most of our friends and family for my husband to attend professional school. Our new church ward was receiving baptisms of mainly West African refugees every week. As I began to work more closely with these people, I had to really ask my Heavenly Father for help and guidance and find out if His church was true. I didn't want to be lying to these humble people who had been through so much. I learned about love for people that were completely different than me. I learned to become less judgmental of people's mistakes and circumstances. I truly felt perhaps for the first time in my life that we all need to "bear one anothers burdens" and that we are all basically in this together. I also learned that the heart of the church is not about going to church every week or wearing the right clothes or attending Enrichment etc but truly about helping people come to know Jesus Christ and finding happiness. I wanted to share with others that I knew Jesus Christ was aware of me. I have struggled off and on with anxiety and panic attacks. It has been a real test to remain positive and to finding happiness, but I do know that in some of my most difficult moments I have felt peace and help in overcoming these challenges. I don't have a perfect knowledge and like everyone I have difficult times, but I do know that I am not alone. And I think that makes all the difference.

How I live my faith

I currently work with the kids in our ward and I wish I could stay there forever. I also volunteer in my boys classrooms at school. My favorite part of volunteering is working with the kids one on one to learn to read or practice math. I feel like that's is when I am making the most difference and having the most fun. I have definitely learned to bless all teachers. My other favorite part of the church is visiting some of the elderly Grandmas in our ward. I love listening to their stories of growing up during World War 2. It's fun to just let them tell stories about what helped shape them as individuals. I love talking to and just being around elderly people. I feel like I always gain so much from these visits.
