Hi I'm Dena

I love cooking for family and friends and I have published my cookbook. I'm a wife, mother and grandmother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife of 36 years, mother of four and a grandmother of seven. I love being a homemaker and I enjoy making memory quilts, scrapbooking, sewing, any kind of crafts, and I can be found in the kitchen creating new recipes and baking. I especially love hosting holiday and theme dinners for family and friends. Through the encouragement of my children I recently published a cookbook showcasing my recipes. Starting in October I can be found baking gingerbread creations to display at the Historical Kanesville Tabernacle. Last year's was a repllica of the Polar Express complete with a lamplighted street scene, conductor, and highlighting fondant children in the passenger cars. It's a blast and brings me a lot of joy! In my spare time I love spending time with my husband riding bikes.

Why I am a Mormon

Having a testimony of Our Savior Jesus Christ and his Gospel teachings brings great purpose, direction, and peace in life when you know who you are, where you came from, and where you are going. I love the guidance and direction of a living Prophet, especially in these troubled times, and also the principles we learn to help us with personal challenges and help us teach our children to be successful and happy. Family is the most important thing to me and knowing that we can be together forever through the blessings of the temple brings incomprehensible joy.

How I live my faith

I enjoy being involved in many aspects of our church, especially service. Whether serving on the school PTA, helping with a community clean up, scouting program, or just helping a neighbor, it's very fulfilling. I have a deep love for the elderly and it brings me great satisfaction and enjoyment just visiting or spending time, helping with cleaning, yard work, chauffer services or just bringing in a meal to them. I love serving in our church and find it rewarding spending time preparing and teaching the children or youth, planning a talent night or a camp fundraiser, or teaching quilting skills for a Humanitarian Releif Project, it is all very rewarding!
