Hi I'm Matt

I was born and raised in Arizona. I love sports, music, and hip-hop culture and dancing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to watch and play sports. I'm single and I'm a college student currently working toward my Master of Taxation degree. I plan to become a Certified Public Accountant within two years. I served a two-year mission for the church when I was 19. I love hip-hop culture and also love to dance and listen to music.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's brought more peace and stability into my life than anything else. Everything about the church and its teachings just make sense to me, both in my mind and also in my heart. I love the fact that I can receive personal revelation specifically for me and my life. The church also has so many wonderful programs that improve so many people's lives. When it comes right down to it, I'm a Mormon because I know it's right. I've known ever since I was eight years old when I first felt the Holy Spirit teach me its truthfulness. I know it because I've felt the forgiveness of The Savior in my life, and I know that he has suffered for my sins. And I know it because I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know it is the word of God and has brought me closer to Him.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by attending church each week. I also have a church responsibility that I try to fulfill to the best of my ability. I try to set an example to those around me, and I also try to surround myself with people that set good examples for me. I love the home teaching program of the church. I love being able to go into the homes of different members and get to know them better, and have a gospel discussion that unites us in the faith.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Mormons often use the term Word of Wisdom. Perhaps the shortest description commonly spoke of in the church is the Lord's law of health. The Bible teaches us that our bodies are temples that have been given to us by our Heavenly Father. They house our spirits and we should treat our bodies with great respect. The Word of Wisdom helps teach us what things are good for our body and what things are not. Members of the church are specifically counseled to refrain from alcohol, tobacco, tea, coffee, and illegal drugs. More importantly, the underlying message of the Word of Wisdom is that we should stay away from anything that would be harmful if taken into our body. It also gives counsel for things that are healthy. The Word of Wisdom has taught me how to use good judgment before I eat or drink anything. As I understand the significance and blessing of these bodily temples we have been given, I find it easier to make the right choices as to what kinds of products I put into my body.
