Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my family. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have been blessed with six children and twenty one grandchildren. We have our own business which allows us the freedom to spend time with our family. I love just about any kind of outdoor activity that can involve our family members. My interests include camping, boating and water sports, riding dirt bikes and snowmobiles, hunting and fishing, and watching our grandchildren participate in their various activities. Most Sunday afternoons we get together as a family and enjoy dinner and spending time with each other.

Why I am a Mormon

My Father joined the Church while he was in the Army during World War II. My mother became a member after they were married and as a result, I was raised in the Church. I enjoyed the weekly Church activities as I grew up. From an early age I knew that I had a Father in Heaven and that he and his son, Jesus Christ, love me. My love for the outdoors was fueled by the Scouting programs provided by the Church. When I became a father, I realized that my wife and I would need lots of help raising our children to become responsible adults. The many programs that the Church provides have assisted us in teaching our children values, and helped them to learn about our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. It provided them with the opportunity to associate with like-minded friends and adult leaders. In today's world, I am so grateful to have our grandchildren learning about Jesus from an early age and being taught values that they will need as they grow to adulthood. I am in awe of the willingness of Jesus to die and atone for our sins and that all he asked of us was to accept him as our Savior, repent of our sins and heed his invitation to follow him.

How I live my faith

I love the opportunities to serve others that the Church has provided for me. I enjoy the opportunity to visit several families every month, to teach a lesson and provide any assistance that they might need. I have especially enjoyed working with the youth over the years, either as an adviser or as a Scout Leader. I love to teach and have had many opportunities to share my beliefs as a Sunday School teacher and youth adviser. Although I am far from perfect, I try each day to follow the teachings of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I do my best to set a good example for my family members to follow.
