Hi I'm Jeff

I am a missionary, guitarist, outdoorsman, a nutcase, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission; the best mission in the world! My hobbies at home include hunting, fishing, shooting, riding, and pretty much anything outdoors. I am a guitarist - I love my music! Some of my favorites are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, and Eddie Van Halen. I really wish I could have grown up in the 80's... I also have a nack for reptiles and herpetology, I am out in the field searching for rattlesnakes and varied other snakes, lizards, and amphibians as much as I can. I love the Lord, and the peace I get from his Gospel. It's so wonderful to know that because of the Atoning sacrifice that our Savior made for us, I can come to Him and feel peace and an assurance that there is a place for me in the next life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church - my parents taught me the meaning of the Atonement and it's incredible significance. I live the gospel to my fullest, because it gives me true happiness, and I love to have the influence in my life and never want to let it go, especially in the crazy world we live in.

How I live my faith

Right now I have the opportunity to live my faith, and SHARE it full-time. I love my mission, and it has been the best thing of and for my life so far. Something I have to be an eternal truth is that the more we act and move forward in our faith, we are drawn closer and closer to the Savior, and we can be lead, guided, and shaped in to the person He wants us to be.

What is being a Mormon like?

In my opinion, being Mormon isn't as different as many people think. We work, we pay bills, we play, gorge on junkfood once in a while, just like the next guy. Yes, we live to some set standards, but we do it for the reason that we know that if we live up to these what are sometimes called "rules", we will be happy. We strive to have a continual relationship with the Lord by reading the Scriptures, praying, and going to church. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Absolutely! Many think that we as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have pushed aside the Bible and "replaced" it with the Book of Mormon. This is not the case. We believe the Bible to be a holy record that contains the inspired words of the prophets of old, and of course the sacred records and words of Christ. We study often and believe it to stand next to the Book of Mormon, hand in hand, as special witnesses of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
