Hi I'm Marisa

I am a wife to a wonderful man. We together, are parents to eight active children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! I am happily married to my sweetheart. We met in college. He has a degree in public affairs and I have a degree in accounting. I passed the CPA exam in Idaho .14 years later, we now have 8 beautiful children. We have chosen a life of homeschooling our children. This has worked well for all of the times we have had to move. We have moved 8 times in our 14 years. My husband's job with the Boy Scouts, keeps us moving! I have always wanted to be a mom and now I am living that dream. Being a mom is the best job in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the church at the age of 8. My parents were both active members. I was taught Christ-like values in my home. As a teenager, I needed to know for myself if the things I had been taught were really true. As I prayed to know and studied the Bible and Book of Mormon, I knew for myself that these teaching were true. I knew that Heavenly Father had sent his son to this Earth, to show me how to live. He came and gave his life for me and everyone. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, loves me enough that he would do this for me. As I have grown up, this has been the foundation that I rely on. There will be a time when I will see my Savior again and I want to live in his presence. We all make mistakes, but he still loves us and wants us to make corrections, so we can become more like him. Through his atonement, I know that this is possible. As I now have my own children and have experienced such great love for another person, it helps me to understand better his love for us. How he would be willing to sacrafice everything for someone else. I love my Heavenly Father and his son, and because of this love I want to live my life in accordance with his commandments.

How I live my faith

As a large family, we try to be involved in the community around us. We try to teach our children to be an example of Christ in all that they do. In play, school, or work. My children are involved in sports through the community and make many friends that way. We participate in the Library summer reading activities and love community service projects. Many people assume that we are religious because of the size of our family. This brings up questions about our faith, which we are happy to answer. I am in the Primary Presidency in our ward. I work with the children from age 18 months to 12 years. I help to coordinate sunday Lessons, music time, teachers, and various activities for the children. I love all time I get with my own children and husband. We try to make the most of family time!

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Increasing faith in Jesus Christ comes by learning of him and then acting like he would act. Show more Show less
