Hi I'm Loren

I grew up in Tacoma WA. I'm a dad and a medical doctor. I like carpentry work, triathlons, and climbing mountains. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like triathlons and caring for the athletes at the Ironman world championship in Kona Hawaii. I like home improvement projects. I'm growing grapes and doing a remodel project above our garage. As a youth, I thrived on basketball, softball, and football but as an adult I've been enjoying the silent sports that take some endurance effort--swimming, running, cycling, canoeing, mountain climbing, cross country skiing. I met my Canadian sweetheart in college and now I'm a proud dad of 6 children.

Why I am a Mormon

I love how my faith helps me focus my efforts on trying to live a life the way our Savior Jesus Christ taught us to live.

How I live my faith

On Sundays I attend sacrament meeting to renew my covenant to take the name of Jesus Christ upon me and live as He taught. I especially enjoy time with family and friends on this day, because we spend part of the day studying the gospel and sharing our plans to live more Christ like lives. During the week I pray daily, study the gospel and try my best to help and serve others. I consider myself privileged to be in a medical profession working in the inner city in a medical office that has been serving a number of minority groups, elderly, mentally ill and immigrant populations. The people I meet each day help make life more satisfying. Jesus Christ set a great example for us of how we should treat people in all aspects of our lives. As a physician, He is my mentor.
