Hi I'm Sharon

I'm a wife, a mother and a grandmother. I'm a uni student and a teacher's aide. I love to cook and read and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and the mother of two children and I have two grandchildren. My family are the most precious and important part of my life. My darling husband works long and hard so I am currently studying psychology so that when I have graduated he will not have to work as many hours. I believe education provides a way for us to increase our earning capacity which in turn allows us to have more time with family because we don't have to work as many hours to make the same amount of money. I also work as a teacher's aide at a high school and love working with teenagers, they have so much enthusiasm for life.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many reasons why I am a Mormon. The journey started when I began working with two lovely ladies who were such good examples to me of the importance of family. I was struggling with two teenage children at that time, I loved my children but was not very good at showing that love to them. These two friends invited me to many Church activities and also invited me to hear more about Jesus Christ. I was introduced to the missionaries who taught me about Jesus. As I listened to what they had to say I felt like things were being brought back to my memory. It was as if I knew what they were telling me but had forgotten it for a long time. The missionaries asked me to kneel and pray to find out if what they were saying was true. I had a very strong impression that what they were teaching me was the truth. I cannot and will not deny what I felt that night. Heavenly Father loves all of his children and wants us all to return home to him, we can all return to Him because of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Jesus' hand is reaching out to each and every one of us. All we have to do is reach up and take His hand and He will lead us back home. Experiencing our Saviour's love has helped me to learn how to feel love and show love to my family.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith and show my love for Jesus by serving others. In the past I have worked with the young women aged between 12 and 18, we would get together every Sunday as well as one night per week and have activities that helped them to draw nearer to each other and to Jesus. Now I work with the women aged 18 and over. We meet together each Sunday to uplift each other and provide friendship. Occassionally we organise activities at other times that will help the women cope with the challenges of everyday life.
