Hi I'm Alicia Q.

I love being a wife and mother, I'm really good at it. I speak Cebuano, I teach preschool and I'm a night owl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Seattle area, I live with my husband and children less than 10 miles from the city I was raised in. Most of my family lives close by and as more cousins are added it makes getting together often so fun and such a blessing. I got married in my early thirties to a wonderful man with 2 boys from his first marriage, I became a step-mom! We now have a baby boy and I love being his mom too. It is crazy to me how much there is to do everyday as a wife and a mother while also trying to be a friend, sister, daughter, preschool teacher, citizen, etc. I try to do the most important things first, like hold hands with my sweetheart and sing to my baby so that means sometimes it takes a few days for the dishes to get washed, laundry folded and put away, or emails answered. I just try my best everyday. I am happy and feel so blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom introduced her High School Sweetheart, to the Church, he was baptized and they were later married. All five of us, their children, we born into the Church and taught the Gospel our whole lives. The Church teaches about our Heavenly Father and how we can become more like Him and how we can return to live with him someday. I know that we have a Savior, Jesus Christ who will make up the difference, through the Atonement, when I fall short or make mistakes. I feel the love of that Heavenly Father everyday and His blessings fill my life daily. The Book of Mormon teaches the things I can do to be more like my Heavenly Father and His son and qualify for blessings through righteousness. It is by following the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that I find joy. I was baptized when I was 8 years old, but I have stayed in the Church because I know it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. It is who I am. I have served in the Church where ever I have been needed and asked to serve. I was a missionary in the Philippines. I taught primary to 6 year olds and even before school "Bible Study" to high schoolers at 6:30am. I love to teach and speak at Church mostly because I get so much out of it myself. I am happy to be a mom and be raising my family in the Church and teaching them what it is be a Mormon. It's who we are.
