Hi I'm Anna

I'm a wife, mother of 4 daughters, a marathon runner and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time mom. My day and activities revovled around my four small daughters. But, I take the early hours of the morning for myself and I run. I love to train for marathons and half marathons. It is my time to visit with my friends and to gather myself before I start my day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I have ancestors on both of my parents' lines that crossed the plains with the early pioneers. I did lean on my parents and used them when people asked why I went to church. I just did what my parents told me. But, it was when I was a junior or senior in high school when I wanted to know for myself if all the things I was doing were right. I was sitting in the chapel while my mom practiced the hymns for that particular day on the organ. I opened my book of mormon with a prayer in my heart and the question "Is this all true?" I read the Introduction and testimonies of the witnesses that are found in the first few pages and I felt a burning so strong in my heart. My eyes started to water and I left so that my mom didn't see me crying. I trust that when Heavenly Father answers my prayers, He doesn't change His mind. I have often thought back to that moment in times of doubt and I am reminded of my conversion that day and I regain my focus. I have gotten used to feeling that Spirit that confirms any questions I might have. I felt it the day I asked if I should marry my sweet husband and I keep asking questions because I know that my Father in Heaven knows what is best for me. I know that Heavenly Father knows me personally and answers my prayers. I know that I am right where I need to be. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently a Primary Teacher and teach the 9 year olds every Sunday. I love this assignment because I get to study lessons and then learn from the children. We are stuyding the New Testament this year and focusing on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. There are Sundays where I don't prepare very well, or the kids are especially roudy, but most of the time there is a lot of great learning and understanding of the scriptures. I love to talk with others about religion. I am facinated about what others believe and how they perceive the bible. My family does family home evening on Monday nights. We sing a song, have a lesson, play a game, then eat a snack. My girls love this and at a young age, they love to help with the lessons and activities. We love to play together. I know that the more activities and fun experiences we share as a family, the closer they will grow as siblings. I want my family to be eternal and I want us all to stick together.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Anna
Joseph Smith was a boy with a question. He wanted to know which church was the right one to join. Heavenly Father knew that Joseph would be humble, hardworking, and dedicated to this cause. In his sincerity to know the truth Heavenly Father entrusted this great work in Joseph's hands. He translated the book of mormon from golden plates to a book. He organized and gave form to this religion. He is not perfect and we do not worship him. We are eternally grateful to him and the amazing sacrafice that he made. But, we hold him in esteem just like we do Noah, Moses, and all the prophets who came before him. Show more Show less
