Hi I'm Tim

I'm a struggling, return to school, dad with three kids and a wife. I work in a nursing home giving showers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to school for a degree in nursing and then on to med school. I have three children, the older two are from my wife's first marriage, and a beautiful wife. I used to have a great paying job in construction and was laid off. I spent the next year unemployed searching every day for some work and couldn't get anything. So now I'm in school full time and working full time to support my family. It's tough but we manage. I like to draw and do wood working. Right now, wood working has taken a back seat for more important things. I'm experiencing, what a wise man once called, delayed gratification. It is tough now but will pay off in the end.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was already members. My conversion happened while I was serving as a missionary in Argentina. We always asked others to pray and ask for themselves if the Book of Mormon was true. I extended the challenge to a family of members and told them I would do the same. When I prayed, I asked to know if everything was true. I felt inside that it was. There was a calm feeling over my whole body and at the same time, I felt flush like I was blushing. I knew then that my conversion was taking place. I was not going anymore just because my parents wanted me to. I went to church every week because I knew it was the right thing to do and wanted to follow the teachings of Christ. To this day, I still go to church as often as I can. I just made some adjustments at work so that I could be available to go to church with my family every week. Through the response to my prayer, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that we are still guided by a current prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for us and wants us to return and live with him as an eternal family. I know he sent Jesus Christ to this earth to suffer and take upon himself the sins of the world because they both love us so. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book and that it is to be used along side the Bible. Most of all, I know that families are forever and are highly looked upon by our Heavenly Father. After this life, I know my loved ones will be there and I look forward to spending eternity with my wife.

How I live my faith

Along with going to church every week and trying to go to the temple as often as I can, I am a "canning specialist" which means I teach people techniques for setting food aside for a rainy day. When I was laid off, we did not have anything set up so that I could feed my family during those tough times. Through that experience, I try to constantly set things aside so if times get tough, my family will have things to eat. I teach how to preserve meats, fruits, vegetables and how to store food so that it will last longer. I also teach others how to be self sustaining by gardening and making their own bread and other items. It is very rewarding for me and others get a lot of information. Then they are educated and can set up their own system to help provide for their families. I also go with the missionaries to visit people in the area that are learning more about the church. I also have two families that I visit at their homes every month and find out how they are doing and learn of ways I can be of service to them. Then I help out in any way that I can.
