Hi I'm Dave

I enjoy running and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my wife for 12 wonderful years. We have three awsome children. Between working hard and spending time with my family I enjoy preparing and running marthons, half marathons, and 10K races.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon by my parents. I had a wonderful childhood and I still enjoy the relationship that I developed with my parents! As I grew into my late teens, I began looking into my future and I felt like I had to make a choice. "Did I want to end up where the Mormon Church was taking me?" or "Did I want to end up down another path?" I thought a lot about where I wanted to be when in 5, 10, and 20 years. My logic pointed me in the direction of the church. I knew I wanted a successful career and a good family of my own and the church would provide opportunities for me that would help me become the person I wanted to be. My parents had always taught me that I have a loving Heavenly Father and that he would answer the questions that I would ask him in prayer. So, after deciding what I wanted to do (continue in the church) I prayed as asked my Heavenly Father if that was the correct decision for me. I asked Him if the church was true. He answered my prayer. I felt that the church was true and that it was Gods will that I continue living the Gospel. Ever since I received the answer that the church is true and that it is God’s will that I continue in the church, I have had many opportunities to help others and truly give of myself. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my church!

How I live my faith

The wonderful thing about being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or a Mormon is that I am needed. First, and most importantly, we are taught that the most important place we can live the Gospel is in our home. I love my family. I am grateful that my wife and I are able to teach our kids how to live their lives in a way that will please their Heavenly Father. I am grateful that our family has direction and that we work together towards a common goal! I also have opportunities to serve our congregation. Every member has a responsibility which helps us learn and understand the Gospel. I served for many years as a Young Men and Scout leader. I enjoyed my time with the boys I have enjoyed watching them grow into men and make good choices. I also serve as a home teacher. A home teacher is assigned 3 or 4 families to visit each month. On our visit we teach a lesson and find out how our families are doing. This gives us the opportunity to help and serve as Jesus would have us do!
