Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in Colorado. I love being in the outdoors & hunting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 3 young kids, 2 boys & 1 girl who are very active. We love to go camping as a family & ride ATVs. My wife & I love to spending time with our kids, but also love to get out on dates to try new restaurants, see movies, bowl, & just have a good time. I love all sorts, but football & basketball are my favorite. Growing up in Colorado I have a huge love of the outdoors. Hunting is first on my list whether it be with a rife or bow, but I also love to pick up a rod & reel. There is nothing liking being in the high country! Last but not least, when possible I love to vacation to where I can be a beach bum & enjoy the water!

Why I am a Mormon

There are 2 major reasons why I am a Mormon. First & most important is that the teachings of the LDS church have brought me closer to Jesus Christ & have given me a better understanding of His Atonement. Late in my teenage years I found myself in a very dark & unhappy place because of choices I made in my life. I felt very alone & depressed. The LDS church believes in modern day Prophets & leaders who receive revelation for the church & the ability for every church member to receive revelation from God for themselves & their families. Because of this revelation that we can receive from God, I was able to receive help & direction from my dad & inspired church leaders to understand Jesus Christ's sacrifice for me & how I could repent of sins in my life which caused me to be unhappy. I followed their council & came unto Christ & felt his cleansing power in my life. Since then I have been much happier & have true joy in my life. Another tool that helped my better come to know Jesus Christ durning all this was the Book of Mormon. It truly helps one to understand who Jesus Christ is & what He taught & what he wants us to become. Second, the teachings of the LDS church about families has brought so much peace, comfort, direction, & perspective into my life. I know that families are meant to be forever & joy is found through loving & serving each other. I could have the worst day of work, money can be tight or I can't buy everything I want, but then I come home & one of my kids can do something that melts my heart or brings a smile to my face that was not there before or my wife's loving arms are stretched toward my & all the sudden I remember what is truly important & where joy is found & that I can be with them forever. For these 2 reasons & many others is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I stive to live as the Savior taught in that I always try to do good to my neighbors & all those I come in contact with. I also believe that we can make the world better by sharing what we have learned in life with the upcoming generation. For the past 7+ years I have had an opportunity to serve as a volunteer in my church with the youth 12-18 years old. It has been a great opportunity to share our life experiences & encourage them to make better decisions in life then I did at there age. It has also given me the opportunity to help them explore the outdoors & enjoy God's creations. Also in serving with the youth, I have been involved in the Boy Scouts of America program which has provided many opportunities to serve in the community.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Tyler
One of the biggest teachings in the Mormon church is that God speaks to each of us & answers our prayers. Missionaries & members of the church try to share the gospel & help people understand what we believe then we encourage people to find out for themselves whether the church is true or not. How one may come to know if the Mormon church is true is to look at & study the teachings of the church, read the Book of Mormon & then think about what is taught & how the teachings can bring one closer to God. Then we each have a responsibility to pray & ask God if the teachings are true. Because God is our Heavenly Father He wants us to be happy & will answer our prayers through his holy ghost.
