Hi I'm Riannon

I was born in California. I graduated in English. I run marathons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went to college at Brigham Young University, and graduated in English. I worked as a writer and editor for a couple of years. When our first child was born, I left my job to be a full time mom. Today, I am the mom of two beautiful kids. I am an avid reader and devour books as fast as I can get my hands on them. I am something of a gym rat, and love taking any type of exercise class I can find. I am a runner, and have completed two marathons, five half marathons, and numerous 5 and 10k's. I have a wonderful husband who supports me in my hobbies and interests as well as in my efforts to raise our children well.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with two parents who were both faithful members of the church. I felt that it was the truth, and made the decision to be baptized when I was eight. That moment is one of my clearest and happiest memories from my childhood. By the age of 12, however, I had started to feel less certain in my faith, and resolved to pray and discover the truth. After praying off and on to know whether the church was in fact true, I eventually gained peace in my heart and the knowledge that I was a member of the only true church on the earth today. Since that time, I have had ups and downs in my life, but I have never wavered in my knowledge of the truth. I have received answers to many prayers and I have seen God's hand at work in my life. I have felt in my heart that he loves me and my family, and that he knows each one of us. I know that God allowed his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ the Savior, to die and atone for our sins, and because of this we can be saved and return to heaven if we will allow Him to be a part of our lives.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. During church, I have the opportunity to play the piano while the Primary children sing church songs. I love being in the Primary and hearing their voices and their testimonies. I also donate my time to teach an exercise class for women twice a month in the gym of a nearby church building. Another way I participate is through the Visiting Teaching program. I get to visit several women once a month and discuss gospel principles with them. We also have become friends and end up spending a good deal of time just chatting as well! Visiting Teaching is generally designated as a thirty minute period of time but we have been known to enjoy ourselves so much that we spend two hours or more. I also have wonderful Visiting Teachers that come visit me monthly.
