Hi I'm Jason Hopper

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Alabama for most of my life. I was born in West Georgia area (buchanan and bremen) for the first 12 years of my life. I am a father of 4 beautiful children and a husband to a wonderful wife, Wendy. I have been a member of the church all of my life. I graduated college at UAB and am a Civil Engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but skipped some years due to inactivity. We later came back into activity when I was a teenager. I later read the book of mormon for the first time and realized the power that it contained and asked Heavenly Father of its veracity. This book helped me prepare for a mission. I served a mission after I graduated high school in Veracruz, Mexico. I learned a lot while serving in this region from the people. The mission definitely helped my testimony grow. I learned for myself by testifying of Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith and of the Book of Mormon that they are true and real. I hope that I can help others know that Jesus Christ lives and loves us deeply and wants us to return to live with Him and Heavenly Father. I know that the gospel is true and that it is there for us to experience and feel of its truth. The Holy Ghost will help us to know that it is true if we only pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ with true and sincere intent.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my local ward and my family. At this time, I have been called as the Bishop. I have never dreamed that I would be in this calling, but the Lord has seen fit that I need this calling at this time in my life. I have humbly accepted this opportunity to grow. If service projects are held, then I am there to help. I get more out of going and serving others than they do when I am in their home or project, I believe. The Lord blesses us as we serve others. He tells us that if we serve others, we are only serving Him. This is a great inspiration to me. We are acting in God's name when we faithfully and worthily serve others who desparately need our help. There have been several occasions throughout the recent years that have helped me serve others and live my faith. We have recently had huge tornadoes come through central Alabama - April 27 Fury. Also, in the past we have worked many hurricanes in Southern Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. These storms and hurricanes have given us plenty of opportunity to serve others with "no pay". It has been a great experience to help others who can't help themselves.
