Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a computer nerd who loves movies and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor Degree in Spanish Linguistics. I love to laugh and do it so frequently that one of my nicknames is now Giggles. I love exploring the unknown, blazing trails and helping others along the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, I had friends of other faiths and didn't understand why everyone thought something different about God when the scriptures we used were the same. I coasted along as a Mormon until college, when the guy across the hall asked me why I believed what I did. So I started paying more attention to the lessons in church and at the Institute of Religion that I was attending to find out the why behind the what. After about a year of studying the scriptures and paying much closer attention to what was being taught, I decided the pray to God to ask him for an affirmation of what I had read. My answer from Him was DUH! You've lived my gospel for how many years and felt good positive feeling the whole time you studied my words in the scriptures, You know it's true. So after following up on the advice given to everyone by both Moroni and James, I asked God for an answer and got one; not the one I was expecting, but an answer none the less.

How I live my faith

I am part of a singles branch(congregation) covering the entire city of castle rock, it's a lot of fun. I have just been made the Activities Co-Chair, setting up the activities for my branch. Human Foosball, movie nights, Rockies game outings, ultimate Frisbee. We meet each week as a church for 3 hours learning about Christ, His prophets and His gospel with friends all around. I used to teach the Sunday school class in the second hour. It's a lot of fun meeting with people who have the same standards and interests as you do. When we go to parties, no drugs or alcohol are required or needed, we use imagination and word play as our entertainment, dance to good music, play pranks on each other. I believe that being a Mormon means living like one everyday, not just one day a week; and my life is so much the better for it.

What do Mormons believe about family?
