Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in AZ and Cal. I drove an original 1956 Ford F100 for 37 years while I taught school and raised my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married. My children are gone and are now on their own. I love to garden and keep bees. I love to restore and repair old furniture. I restored an Oliver Tractor like one I used to drive on my father's farm. I spent my growing up years living along the lower Colorado River where my father farmed. I love the Spanish language and speak it everyday to someone. I have been infatuated by it since the time I first heard it spoken on my father's farm and among my friends. I have taught the language for many years in High School and enjoy it very much. I am always willing to help someone understand how to speak it. It thrills me to know about another culture. It seems like I have a different personality when I speak in Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. I continue to follow this religion because my inner most feelings, the ones that guide me, provide security, comfort, and safey in the turbulent times we live in today. I have constantly been led to do things in my life that when I look back on them now, I say to myself,"you were guided". As my living is not perfectly the way the Savior would have me be, when I do make a mistake, I am humbled by the Savior's love for me as he guides me back to Spiritural safey. As I try to avoid pitfalls, and try to be more obedient to the lifestyle the Savior would have me live, I enjoy his loving and tender mercies toward me, and I am content. I have been blessed with good health and strength all my life. I attribute this great blessing to making sure I do not abuse substances I take into my body. I enjoy the lifestyle of the Mormons. It makes me happy to think I don't have to rely on taking things into my body to pep myself up or to live each day. I am happy to know that I can be with my family members and their families forever. I love them all very much, even the ones I don't know yet. It thrills me to know that when I leave this life and eternity begins I will be with them and enjoy their associations just like I have done while here on the earth. It also thrills me to know I will met many in my family whose histories I've only read about.

How I live my faith

I am a High School teacher. I enjoy teaching those who come to my classes and desire to learn and expand their knowledge. It is a great privilege to be able to teach youth in the community and watch them grow up over the years. Many of them see me around and do not hesitate to re-introduce themselves again and tell of their families. This is very gratifying to me. In the congregation I attend, I am a clerk. I attend the council meetings and help my bishop do clerical duties before and after the meetings are over. I have the duty to visit on a monthly basis about 4 families to check on them and leave them a message. This serves both to fellowship and to keep track of members in our congregation and to attend to needs they may have should any arise.
