Hi I'm Billie

I grew up in the Dallas, Texas area. I work with people who have disabilities. I love to cook and I am proud to say I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single mom who works hard to take care of her family. I love my family dearly. I work 2 full time jobs. When I have free time, I love to cook for others. Ahh the expressions on their faces when they taste something good. That makes me happy. I love music too, I believe it inspires the soul. Oh and reading, I love books. I am a fan of the theater, opera and ballet. I love people. I am a nurturer, I love helping others. I try not to take anything in life for granted. My favorite quote is " There is nothing about a caterpillar that tells you it is going to be a butterfly."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I choose to be. I love this gospel. I first leanred about the church when I spoke to my cousin about 2 years ago. See, I hadn't seen my cousin for many years (19 I think) and one day he called me. Oh how I rejoiced in hearing form him again. He was my favorite of all my cousins. During our conversation, he asked me if I'd cook dinner for some friends of his that were visiting in my town. Of course I said yes. The friends of my cousins that came to dinner were the Missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We had a wonderful time at dinner and they gave me a Book of Mormon and asked me to read it, then pray to Heavenly Father to see if it was true. I did just that, and the feeling of warmth that came over me, the spirit of love I felt surround me during my prayer gave me the asmwer I was seeking. So I joined the church and have never regretted it. I love being a member. This gospel gives my life purpose and meaning. It allows me to do what is deep within my heart and that is love everyone and help others. In the church I am encouraged to grow, and educate myself. I am encouraged to read my scriptures and pray and get to know God. I feel as though I am apart of something better than myself. And the best part is I love having my own relationship with Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church regularly. I try to be honest and true and virtuous in everything I do. I attend church regularly. I also praying twice daily, read my scriptures, visit my fellow church members each month to make sure they are ok and to give encouragement / service when needed. It is important that I be faithful and true to my callings, and performing service for others. My largest calling I believe is in helping others who have special needs or life challenging disabilities. Life really does change and becomes beautiful when you put God first.
