Hi I'm Diane

I'm a wife. I'm a mother of two teenagers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California, USA, the oldest of three children. My parents taught my 3 brothers and I to be hard-working, good citizens. We enjoyed being together as a family. I have wonderful childhood memories and always looked forward to having a family of my own. While attending college, I met and married a wonderful man. After working several years in administrative positions my husband and I adopted a beautiful girl and wonderful boy, because we could not have biological children. Since our children joined our family I have been a stay-at-home mom. My children are now 16 and 13 years old. I stay busy attending my children's school and athletic events, supporting PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) and enjoying family time together. I know that my children with soon leave home and I want to enjoy the years they will live with us. Besides spending time with my family I enjoy reading, traveling, exercising and eating delicious food.

Why I am a Mormon

My family, for many generations, have been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents taught my brothers and I the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our home and we attended Church every Sunday. However, I had to gain my own testimony of this religion. The Holy Spirit has borne witness to me that Joseph Smith restored the true Church, the Book of Mormon is true and we have a living prophet today. I know these things are true. My faith helps me in every aspect of my daily life. The teachings of the LDS Church help in my marriage, my parenting and in my interactions with others. I am able to make good decisions because of the things I know to be true. Life has many challenges and disappointment, but my religion helps me understanding that there is a purpose for the things we experience. We each are sons or daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. He is always there to listen to our prayers and provide guidance during our trials.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending Church on Sunday with my family. We enjoy going to Church together. My husband and I teach gospel principles in our home and encourage our children to gain their own testimonies. Each day I try to be a good example to others. The scripture found in Matthew 5:15 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" is counsel from Jesus Christ which I strive to follow.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Diane
We can know our Father in Heaven by praying to him and asking Him for reassurance and love. (See James 1:5 Bible New Testament) We can also study the scriptures which contain the testimonies of special witnesses called apostles and prophets. (See 2 Timothy 3:14-17 Bible New Testament) We can keep Heavenly Father's commandments, which bring us closer to God and help us know that He lives. (See John 14:21-23 Bible New Testament) Show more Show less
