Hi I'm Darlene

I'm a Mormon. Being a wife, a mom and a grandma is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I love it!

About Me

I love people. That is probably why I and my husband choose to have seven children. Now our six daughters have brought six sons-in-law and thirty-two grandchildren in to our lives to love. I have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Relations. I have definitely put that degree to good use! Being a full time wife and mother has provided opportunities for me and my children to develop our talents and abilities. One common talent and interest we all share is music. It has blessed our family with opportunities to perform together and share with others what we love. Seeing this passed on to the next generation is so exciting. Although much of my time is consumed with family, I also love to play piano, exercise, study Spanish, make my home beautiful. A wonderful supporting husband has helped make all this possible. My husband and I are now serving a "full-time, stay-at-home, Self Reliance mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I feel happiness and joy when I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I find Jesus Christ and His teaching in the scriptures including the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price. I am also inspired when I listen to or read the teachings of the Living Prophets and the 12 Apostles. One key concept that strengthens my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ is that through temple work all of God's children throughout all time have a chance to accept Jesus Christ and his gospel. I know God would extend this invitation to all of his children.

How I live my faith

I love the teenagers of this world. Serving in my church has given me opportunities to camp with them, sing with them, learn with them, laugh with them and occasionally cry with them. They are so full of life, hope and exuberance. I also love Sunday! I can't imagine not having a day to worship God and partake of His sacrament. I am uplifted weekly by the talks and lessons other people prepare. I also love the Sunday dinners with family. On a more personal side, I have always been taught to pray and study the scriptures. Doing this daily makes the rest of my world make sense. I am very interested in helping others have and enjoy the abundant life God wants us to experience. I feel so blessed to currently serve as a full-time, stay at home, self-reliance missionary with my husband. I pray that we can make a difference for someone.
