Hi I'm Sheri

I live in Arizona. I'm a wife and mother. I work to help orphaned children in China. I love life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! Although it seems that the world continues to face more and more challenges, I think it is an exciting time to be on this earth. I am married to a great man, who is my best friend, and we are parents to seven children, the three youngest of whom were adopted from China and Malaysia. Being a mother is a great blessing in my life, and each of our children have been blessings to my husband and me. I keep busy being a mom and working as the administration director of a nonprofit organization that helps orphaned children in China. When visiting my own daughter's orphanage, it hit me very hard that each of the children I saw didn't have parents and a family of their own. Every child deserves a family who loves and cares for them. Each child that I saw had so much potential and should have the love and support of a family to help them reach it. I enjoy reading, watching NBA basketball, going to movies, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into and raised in a Mormon family, but the real reason I'm a Mormon is because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to my heart the truthfulness of the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I try to keep the commandments and serve others, I have been blessed. When I pray sincerely, I feel my Heavenly Father listening. When I listen to our church leaders, I am inspired by their words and examples. When I see other members who face challenges but who strive to live good lives, it helps me to try harder. But most importantly I am a Mormon because I believe our church was restored by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and because it provides a way for me to learn, grow, and work to return to live in their presence with my family.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ by loving and serving others. I feel that I have a good understanding of people and try to be accepting and non-judgmental. I work to give of my time, care, and means to help those in need. Of course this is an ongoing effort to strive to be like our Savior, but I feel it is the most important thing we can do in this life. In addition to my work on behalf of orphaned children in China, I serve as the secretary in the Primary, the church's organization for the children up to age 12. In the past I have also worked with the Boy Scouts, taught youth and adult classes, and helped oversee the Church's program for women.
