Hi I'm Kelcie

I'm a law student. I love hanging out with friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a third year law student and spend most of my time in the library studying and preparring for my finals. I like hiking, waterskiing, and spending time with my family. I am close with my neice and nephew. I like to read, and will often watch TV and movies with my friends. I love playing games, and am a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, but when I was a teenager, I felt myself really looking for a sense of belonging. Questions of things like "What is my purpose?" or "Does God really know me?" were at the forefront of my mind. For the first time in my life, I really searched for truth through prayer and reading from scriptures like the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I received an answer to those prayers, and through that experience and many others like it, I have developed a testimony that God does love us and is aware of us. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can overcome every obstacle in our lives. Prayer has given me the power and ability to draw on the powers of heaven in order to overcome life's challenges. I know that God cares about all of his children, because I've felt his hand directing my own life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through everyday actions. I spend time visiting with other members of the church at least once a month to help serve them. I am also currently involved in helping to plan church activities that revolve around culture. I pray daily, and strive to read everyday from sacred books like the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I think it is important to also be involved in the community. Because of that, I am involved as a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization at a school in an urban area. I love seeing the effect that people can make on the community, that by simply being who we are we can really make a difference in the lives of other people.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe that God loves us because we are his children. I know that he loves me and knows me individually because I have felt his hand in my life. We can speak to him through prayer, and he does answer our prayers. Because God does not change, he will answer our prayers just as he answered the prayers of people in the times of the Bible.
