Hi I'm Jake Garn

I'm a dad, a husband, a son, a brother, a dog owner, a fashion photographer, a restauranteur, a writer and a Mormon.

About Me

I have gotten out of more speeding tickets than you would ever believe, I tell great stories, funny jokes and accidentally hurt feelings because of my all around lack of a filter. I'm the life of the party or the downer of the decade, I'm happy to be alive and have been making a more concerted effort (as of the summer of 2011) to live a more inspired life. To un-bury my talents so to speak, I'll let you know how it goes. Award winning, published fashion photographer. Co-creator and Co-Owner of Corbin's Grille. Nationally Published Writer. Award winning stand-up comic. Certified Scuba Diver. Kind of a bit spoiled, a little sarcastic, really arrogant and a general all around smart... ya. :)

Why I am a Mormon

Because my soul feels the resonance of truth spoken in the Book of Mormon and the LDS prophets from Joseph Smith to the modern day. I have learned so many beautiful things from the parables in the scriptures. That's the key to being an intellectual and a Mormon and an artist... realize the beautiful symbolism of elegant, inspired story telling and you'll find beauty in the scriptures too. Trust me on this. I sincerely believe in a loving and forgiving heavenly father that wants the best for us so much that he sits by and lets us experience pain while we are away from his loving embrace. Even his only begotten Son needed to feel this pain even in the midst of a perfect life. I've had some serious lows in my life but as I reflect on the beauty of the Lord's atonement I realize I can just focus on the moment in front of me, and when I do that I'm a better friend, father, husband and most of all a better person. I am so eternally grateful for that gift.

How I live my faith

Learning to live it always in my heart and never on my sleeve. I'm not perfect though.
