Hi I'm Preston
I'm a hiker, I'm a trombonist, I'm fascinated with art, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
Basically, I'm someone who really enjoys life. I love things like biking, hiking, and every sport known to mankind. I have a great love for music, I'm pretty sure I have spent a majority of my life participating in some type of musical group. I find it fascinating the powerful emotions music can generate and how it can cheer almost anyone up when they are at a low. I personally feel that God has inspired many of His children to invite the spirit through their musical talents. That is something I really love and is the "why" behind my countless hours of studying and playing music. I'm currently serving a mission and when I finish my service to our God I will return home and continue my studies at BYU.
Why I am a Mormon
I'm a Mormon because I received an answer that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. All my life I've been raised a member of the church but never really had a personal witness of the truth. I was then told that the Book of Mormon had a promise and that all I had to do was read, ponder and pray about it and God would reveal to me the truthfulness of it through the Holy Ghost. So that is what I did, I read the whole book, pondered it and then asked God. The second I finished my prayer I felt an overwhelming feeling of love come over me like a force field which reminded me of Star Wars ha. I instantly knew that my Heavenly Father Loves me and that He wanted me to know the truthfulness of the Book. Ever since I have dedicated my life to sharing this knowledge with everyone I know because it has brought me so much happiness!
How I live my faith
I strive to live my faith how Jesus Christ instructed and lived His life. He layed it out pretty simple by giving us His gospel and establishing His commandments. I have seen, as I live the gospel and keep His commandments I have a more optimistic view on life, no matter the circumstance. I also have found by sharing this percious principle with my friends and family, the love of God is more abundant in my life and I feel and see the constant guidance from the Holy Spirit. Another way I live my faith is by giving heed to the scriptures and council of modern day prophets. As I read daily, have many conversations with my Father in Heaven and attend church weekly, things just run a lot smoother. Don't get me wrong, I confront many challenges in life and go through hard times, but what keeps me going is the promise that the Lord has given us. If we keep His commandments, "He doth immediately bless you." I know that promise is true and I have seen it be a blessing in my life and the life of others! Basically I live by the famous saying," What would Jesus do?"
