Hi I'm Denise

I'm the mother of a blended family. Together we have 6 kids. I work full time as a dental hygienist and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Ten years ago I met my husband. I had four children he had 2. We were married 6 months later and started blending our families together. Our youngest were both 8 years old at the time. Today we have a beautiful family with 6 kids and 5 grand kids. Its a tremendous challenge bringing together two families from such different back grounds, but the one thing we had in common was the gospel of Jesus Christ and those values that we shared in common. I've learned a lot about unconditional love, patience and long suffering in the last 10 years and I've put a lot of time in on my knees praying for strength and today I just say I have 6 kids I don't even like to use the word "stepkids". My heart doesn't know the difference

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to prodestant churches with my family. I went to Vacation Bible School and learned to recite the Lord's Prayer and Jesus Loves Me This I know. When I was 9 my parents made the decision to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was not just a change of faith but a major change of life style. Now I can recite my 13 Articles of Faith and I Am A Child of God. Regardless of which church I attended as a child, I was always taught that I had a loving Heavenly Father who would hear and answer my prayers. As bumps have come along on my life's path, and they have! I've relied on that knowledge that I know I am His daughter and He knows me by name and when I pray, He listens AND ANSWERS.

How I live my faith

My first assignment to serve in the church was when I was 12 and I was asked to be the music chorister for the children. I spent the next decade teaching Heavenly Father's smallest children to sing and to worship through music. I taught them that they too are "A Child of God", and to try " to Be Like Jesus" and to "Follow the Prophet". Later I spent two decades teaching His teenage daughters that they are "daughters of a Heavenly Father who loves them" and to have faith and Integrity and to recognize their Divine Nature. Now I'm teaching the children again, the stories of Jesus from the New Testament and helping them to come to know and love their Savior the way I have come to know and love Him. Each time I accept an assignment to serve in His kingdom my relationship with Him grows as I rely upon Him.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Denise
Absolutely! we believe the Bible to be the word of God so far as it is translated correctly, but we also believe the Book of Mormon to be every bit as much the word of God inspired, recorded and translated through the Holy Ghost by anciet and modern prophets of God. We believe that the Bible and the Book of Mormon go hand in hand in bringing Heavenly Father's children unto Christ. Show more Show less
