Hi I'm Martin Kurtz

I was born in the Midwest and currently live in Arizona. I work in sales as an international account manager and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married and a father of 4 children. I love sports, baseball and football and support the local AZ sports teams. I enjoy spending time with my family playing games, watching TV and just being together. I enjoy doing small projects around the house and doing projects that involve using my hands. My hobbies include RC cars, bike riding and playing guitar. Playing guitar is more of an ongoing project that I have really, I should say I enjoy the thought of playing guitar, you need to practice in order to know how to play……

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Midwest in a Christian home with Christian beliefs. I was 11 years old when my parent divorced and we stopped attending church. Although my Father and Mother loved me very much it left me with a void in my life. I turn to alcohol to cover those feeling. As a young man struggling to accept life’s challenges I continued to live life in the fast lane, so to speak, until one day I had enough. I uttered a simple sincere 3 word prayer…..God help me. I always believed in God or a higher power but never had I called upon him to help me. That simple prayer was the start of complex change, the journey was long and often hard but from that day forward, my life would never be the same. Some time after, I converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a Mormon today because of the strong family values that are taught, the understanding that families can be together forever. I love the fellowship and the friendships that I have developed, I love to serve others and deep connection it has to helping me feel the Spirit. I am a Mormon today because I realized that my Heavenly Father knows me and loves me, and most of all that he answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

Today I currently serve as the 2nd counselor to the Bishop in our Ward. I am the C.O.R. for the Boy Scouts Troup and help to organize the events that shape the lives of young men. I visit with the families in our ward and share my testimony of the gospel.
