Hi I'm Jeff Sawyer

I'm a husband, father, step-father, grandfather, computer engineer, outdoor enthusiast, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a sweetheart, 4 children, 4 step-children, and 3 grand-children; each of whom is a wonderful, talented individual. I enjoy 1-on-1 time with each of them and enjoy family times such as Sunday dinner and summer vacation when we all get together. I enjoy learning, working, traveling to new places, seeing my investments grow, helping others, reading scriptures, watching a good movie, having a date night with my wife, walking our 2 dogs, trips to the lake, camping, attending baseball games, solving crossword puzzles and munching fast food on road trips ... not necessarily in that order.

Why I am a Mormon

I had a wonderful childhood, and was blessed to be in a household with 2 loving parents, 2 brothers and a sister ... and an extended family that made each holiday get together something to look forward to. My parents invited the Mormon missionaries into our home, were taught, and were baptized when I was 2 years old. After their conversion, we went to church together each week and enjoyed the activities that were available ... including weekday gospel learning, Sunday meetings, Boy Scout activities, and the feeling that I had another larger family that was the local congregation. When I was 8 years old, I was baptized as well. During my youth I developed a testimony of my own (not having just accepted what was taught to me by my parents and other teachers without questioning) of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Mormon Church. When it was time to attend college I chose Brigham Young University which turned out to be an wonderful blend of career preparation and spiritual learning. I will always be grateful for the standards that the Mormon Church teaches, the faith that comes of being involved with this wonderful organization, and the blessings that come to me and to my family as we strive to live in the matter that is taught by our Heavenly Father, by his Son Jesus Christ and their spokesmen - the prophets ancient and modern.

How I live my faith

I pray and read the scriptures each day. I try to prioritize my time so that I feel I have done things throughout the day to support my family, bless the lives of others, and bring myself steadily closer to being the person that my Heavenly Father would have me be. I look for opportunities to improve myself and to encourage others to do the same.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Jeff Sawyer
It is the knowledge given to us by the Holy Ghost that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and that through our faith in Him, and through our good works, we can overcome any challenges and weaknesses in our lives. It is also a knowledge that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in our day in its fullness, and that it is lead by a true prophet. Show more Show less
