Hi I'm Doug Carroll

I work at a company that builds electric power plants. I like camping and playing with my grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been working in the power industry for 17 years. Knowing that I am working to creat a Power Plant that will benefit people and my family feels gratifying. Watching each project come together and knowing that I had a part in the design gives a sense of accomplishment. But no more accomlishment comes than the times I am with my children and their families. As a grandfather, I'm extreamly interested in my family. We have 6 children and 17 grandchildren. Our home has grandchildren in it, the majority of the days each week. It is exciting to see thier eyes lighten up as they learn new things. I like camping and family gatherings, especially to the mountains. I enjoy the beauty of nature. The awesome views of the mountains and vallies are a joy. I feel close to the greatest archetect while in the mountains. I like canoeing and fishing. A few years back a son and I built a canoe. Sharing something together will echo through life. As with the small moments spent will family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. It is a personal choice to understand your own faith in Jesus Christ. I know this Church is guided by Jesus Christ. As I read the scriptures, Bible and the Book of Mormon, I feel confirmation of the truth taught by Jesus Christ and how it exists in the operation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Life is full of choices and changes. Jesus Christ is the only one that could complete the requirements for us to have the possibility to return to Heaven. We have to demonstrate our faith and make the choice to repent to take advantage of the Atonment. As I read the scriptures, these truths become more evident. I'm eternally thankful for my knowledge of Jesus Christ and all he has done for me.

How I live my faith

I feel my faith in Jesus Christ requires me to take action. Daily it is important to Pray and read my Scriptures. These activities have given me the knowledge and desire to help others to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I attend church every Sunday, teach lessons or give talks when asked. I love to discuss gospel topics. We have classes for all age groups from 3 yrs old to 99+. Helping the young and youth to gain a knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ, is a peosonal love. I feel how I treat others is a direct example of faith in Jesus Christ. It is ultimately important for us to be in good standing with God, no matter what happens in our lives here on earth. So when we are called home we can stand before God with a clear conscience.
