Hi I'm Nancy

I am a wife, mother of 7 and grandmother of 7 (so far!), a Registered Nurse, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an "empty nester" at this stage in my life! My greatest joy is my family. I love spending time with my husband and our grown children and watching our grandchildren grow and develop their talents. I work part-time as a home health nurse and love helping people. I also enjoy reading good literature, listening to beautiful music, sewing, geocaching with my husband, and working in our home garden. The church has given me countless opportunities to serve and grow for which I am so very grateful. I love to stay busy doing good things!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to LDS parents and was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 8 years old. Through study and prayer, I have come to know for myself through the Spirit of the Holy Ghost that my Heavenly Father loves me and has a plan for my happiness. I have also come to know by that same Spirit that this is the true church of Jesus Christ is upon the earth today and there is a living prophet today who receives revelation from the head of the Church, who is Jesus Christ himself. The gospel blesses my life each day in every aspect. I know that as I live by its precepts and continue to seek the Spirit in my life, I will be able to make decisions that will help me progress and grow and one day be able to return to the presence of my Heavenly Father. Because my family is so precious to me, I am so very grateful for the knowledge that Heavenly Father has provided a way for families to be sealed together for all eternity. The gospel has given me a clear understanding of why I am here on earth, where I came from, and where I can, through my faithfulness, look forward to going when mortality is over. I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior. Through His atonement, He has made it possible for me to repent of my sins and become clean through and through. I know He will bless and strengthen me to overcome whatever affliction life throws my way as I prove my faithfulness in keeping the covenants I have made. I can think of no other knowledge that can bring such comfort and peace to my soul. In a world of declining morals and standards...a world filled with chaos and evil, I know there is a place my family and I can go which will be a refuge from the storms of the world; a place where we can learn truth, fortify and strengthen our families and be a righteous influence in our communities no matter where we live...and that is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints...and that is why I am a Mormon and love it!

How I live my faith

Our church provides many opportunities for its members to serve each other. Over the years I have had many different opportunities, each one a learning experience as well as an opportunity to serve. Currently I have the privilege of working with and teaching the young women ages 12-18. I enjoy their enthusiasm for life and hope I can share some of the knowledge I have gained that has blessed my life with each of them. I feel a great love for these girls. I also have the opportunity to visit with 3 ladies in their homes each month to share a gospel message and serve them in whatever need they may have. I love attending our church meetings on Sunday and our Wednesday youth meetings. I feel the spirit in those meetings and it strenthens me as I go throughout my week. I love attending our temple in Mesa each week and this blesses my life so much and helps me to keep an eternal perspective, remembering always those things that matter most. I have made prayer and daily scripture study an important part of my life. I have made covenants with my Heavenly Father that I desire to honor faithfully. The principles of the gospel are a part of my everyday life, not just on Sundays. Living those principles on a daily basis have proven to make me happy and I hope to be able to share that happiness with others around me.
