Hi I'm Tammie

I'm a Mormon and thankful that Heavenly Father found me.

About Me

I am a mother of 2 teenagers, 2 younger step sons and 2 cats. I have my stories of woe as does everyone but mine included abuse, drugs, domestic violence and a broken home.

Why I am a Mormon

Six years ago as I sat broken, crying and begging for Gods mercy at the bottom of my stair well. He sent missionaries across the parking lot and he told me "I can send them but it's up to you to take the first step" So I did. I asked the Elders if they had time to talk. God then put my husband in my path. He worked in the same strip mall as me and we started talking. Come to find out we were both from the same city in California, his birthday was six days after mine and he was raised Mormon but had fallen away at the age of 15. God had us talk to the missionaries and we began going to church, even my children who were never allowed to be taught about God. First my son was baptized, my husband repented and was allow back, we got married so my husband could baptized me 3years later and then the day came that I thought never would. My daughter who wanted nothing to do with church or God was finally baptized 5 years later. I am a Mormon and I say that with joy in my heart. Yes I still have trials and troubles, heartbreak and pain. I believe that is gods way of getting my attention when I start to stray again or there is a lesson in life that needs learning. It brings me to him with a contrite sprite that leads me back on to the right path. Nobodies perfect but Heavenly father made us that way so he could love and teach us. So that we may learn and live our lives to return to him. I feel so blessed to know that my family will be reunited in heaven for all of eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my life with compassion for others, eager to answer questions about my faith when asked. I pray daily, more than once and not always alone. At night I read my scriptures before I journal and lay down to sleep. It helps to put my worries, fears and questions to rest. So that I am able to sleep with out nightmares of my past. I make a conscious effort daily to thank the Lord for the blessings I do have. I try not to always ask him for help only in times of great need but a balance of both.
