Hi I'm Laura

I live in England, I'm loving life as a student, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 and am studying at university to become a doctor. I've have already been studying at university for 3 years and love the challenges that it brings. I am single and still live at home with my parents and a younger brother. I like to watch sports, particularly football, and in the past have played. I also enjoy music and play both the piano and the guitar on a regular basis as well as get involved in the many opportunities to form a church choir.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a Mormon. The church has always been part of my life with all my immediate family and many of my extended family living the gospel. For many years I relied upon the testimony of my parents to keep me going to church but quietly my testimony grew as I continued to attend church and was taught how I was supposed to live and followed through in doing so until I knew without a shadow of doubt that the church was true. The longer that I have been in the church, the more I have learnt, the more I have understood, the more I have desired to do what is right and follow the teachings, the more I have been blessed and the stronger my testimony grows. I know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ, and although it may be completely different to how the world lives, I know that my life is better, happier and more fulfilling by me living the commandments and the standards that my Heavenly Father has asked of me. I trust my Heavenly Father with all my heart that He knows what is best for me and therefore, with this knowledge, I let him guide my life. My Saviour loves each and everyone one of us and I want to show my love to Him in return by the way I live my life. Thats what makes me a Mormon and I'm proud of it!

How I live my faith

I currently work with the female youth that are in the ward. Along with other leaders, I help them to further understand the gospel and help them to find their own testimonies, or strengthen the ones they already have. One evening a week, we run an activity which helps them develop their friendships with each other in a more social setting but include spiritual aspects to the evening. I feel the responsibility of the influence that I can have on these girls' lives, and wish it to be a good one. I know that they look up to me and see the way that I live my life and the example I set. I strive each day to have the spirit with me so that I can live righteously to not only help me be near close to my Heavenly Father but also to be guided to help others. I wish to reach out to those in need and do all that I can to help others feel the way I do about my Saviour, this gospel and the happiness these bring into my life. I also like to get involved in the activities put on for people my age, that helps me stay strong in the church by meeting many other people that live their lives the way that I do. Together we stregthen one anothers testimony as well as having fun at the same time. It also stops me looking elsewhere for social activities that could draw the spirit away from me or draw me away from the gospel as these activities happen very regularly.
