Hi I'm Andrew

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and grew up in Utah. I attend law school at Gonzaga University.

About Me

At this time in my life I am single and attending law school. So the church is especially important to me for creating a network of support and friendship. Where ever I have been, I have made immediate friends through the Church with people who hold the same moral and religious values that I grew up with and that I have come to know are true. The Church especially encourages its people to become educated to enable them to serve and contribute in society as well as in the Church. One principle taught in the Book of Mormon, which (with the Bible) establishes the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is that when we serve our fellow beings we serve God. The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, Book of Mosiah, Ch. 2, vs. 17. This principle of service has encouraged me in my pursuit of an education that will prepare me to practice law and serve people by helping them to be law abiding citizens.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the Church when I was eight years old. Although I felt that the Church was true at that time, I was largely influenced by family and friends to join the Church. I do not see that as down playing in any way the truthfulness of the things that I came to know more assuredly later on. The way that I came to really know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints truly was organized by Jesus Christ in these days and is authorized by Him to administer the ordinances of His Gospel was through studying the scriptures (especially helpful in this regard was The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ), asking Heavely Father in the name of Jesus Christ whether the things I read were true, and living the teachings of scriptures and modern prophets and apostles. I recognized the answer that gradually came from Heavenly Father through a consistent feeling that I was doing right and through occasional feelings of indescribable peace. These feelings were not creation of my own emotions or emaginations, but came from the Holy Ghost who testifies of truth and is the third member of the Godhead.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by stiving to do my best in my activities each day, living a moral life, serving others in the church and community, and treating others with kindness and concern.
