Hi I'm Serena

I was raised in Sacramento, CA. I have 4 children and am a stay at home mom, My intro is boring.... but I am happy:) I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I LOVE to do things with my hands. and it shows, I'm only 32 and my hands look like I'm 80. I watched my mother growing up and I was awed by her drive & will, the faith in herself and her Heavenly Father that compelled her to know she could do anything if she wanted it enough. No task is below her. I believe I have inherited that drive. I thrive in a new challenge. I make cakes and scrapbooks, furniture, and anything else I can get my hands in. I was an athlete in high school and college. I played the violin for 13 years-but no longer. I have a physical and mathematical science degree. My husband..... I could not have invented him to be more of a complement to who I am. Motherhood so far is the most challenging experience I have faced so far, being a mother of 6 (4 living) has pushed me harder then I thought was possible. But there is a greater plan, and I am learning.

Why I am a Mormon

JOY... that is why I keep doing what I do. The gospel is true. I have no question. I was converted in my heart when I was 17. I learned how far Satan will go to get you to believe one lie, and ever since then I have not wavered in my testimony. The basic fundamentals of the gospel ( prayer, scripture study, sharing testimony's, temple attendance, journal writing) root me in a knowledge of the truth of our Savior and his plan of Salvation or plan of happiness. My family will be forever even if tragedy strikes, and that is a concrete truth. The sacrifices that were made in the formation of Jesus Christs church were of such magnitude, It must be true no man would go to such great lengths and sacrifice so much if it were not. It's true.... That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a Mormon true & true, I live it, I love it, I share it. I volunteer at school in the classrooms, and teach art, I coach sports teams I attend book club, I take my children everywhere, and teach them as I go. every experience is a learning experience. I visit sisters in the church and out of the church, I take dinners to those in need, I visit the sick in the hospital. I open my home to the children in the neighborhood. I teach the youth ages 8-11, they are amazing girls, and I teach them on Sunday as well. I comfort the weary and strengthn the weak. I get tired but then I go to church on Sunday and am ready to do it allover again with a smile.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

most good things come in pairs, the Bible is the word of God but it still leaves unanswered questions, the Book of Mormon is the other part of the Word of God, one is not complete without the other. The questions get answered with the Book of Mormon and the Bible together, everything else is up to the Lord to reveal in his own time. Show more Show less
