Hi I'm Katie

I am a wife, a mother of two, and a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a mother of my 3yr old and my 1 yr old. It is the best feeling in the world to be able to raise my children. My husband and I are both attending school right now. I am getting a degree in elementary education and I can't wait to become a teacher and inspire other children. As a family we love to go camping, visit the beach, and just be outdoors. Some things I enjoy in life right now include:playing and teaching piano, going to Zumba classes, and reading books.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have developed a very strong testimony of this gospel throughout my life. I love this church with all my heart and know that is true and that it is guided by our Heavenly Father. We believe that families can be together forever. This principle has blessed and guided my life. My father passed away when I was young and because I know that I will see him again and be united as a family in Heaven, I have been blessed with strength to endure. I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for us and is truly a friend to all of us.

How I live my faith

Our family attends church every Sunday. I am on a committee that helps plan and prepare activities for the women in the ward, so we have chances to meet each other and grow stronger relationships. I also meet with a group of 8 and 9 yr old girls two times a month. We plan activities to help prepare these young girls for the future as well as have a lot of fun together. At home and as a family we try to read from the Bible and from the Book of Mormon every day. We also say family prayers together everyday as well as personal prayers. We practice these things because we try to stay close to the spirit and always remember what is really important in this life.

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that families can be together forever. When someone in our family passes away, although we feel sorrow, we also feel joy that we know we will see them again and be a family for eternity. Jesus gave to Peter the power to have things sealed on earth and sealed in heaven (Matthew 16:19). This same sealing power was restored to Joseph Smith. Mormon’s believe that they can be “sealed” or bound together through His power enabling them to live together in eternity. Show more Show less
