Hi I'm Jenni

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and live here now with my family.

About Me

I'm Jenni and I live in the beautiful, and wet, Pacific Northwest. I was raised here and am currently raising our family here. My husband, Eddie, and I have five amazing children, 3 sons and 2 daughters. I graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii with a BS in Computer Science. I worked in the Information Technology field for over 15 years. I recently earned my Master in Public Administration and changed jobs. I am now an Electronic Medical Records manager for a large health system. I love to spend time with my family--every year we put on a community lu'au. It's a lot of work but it's amazing to see our family, friends, and neighbors come together and learn/perform cultural dances and have a wonderful time doing it. I love to read and write. I have found that I progress and learn the most in quiet moments of reading, reflection and journaling.

Why I am a Mormon

Being LDS impacts every aspect of my life and guides my thoughts and actions. I am definitely not perfect but I have found that this gospel brings me true happiness. People are often amazed at all that we are expected to do in our religion--this is not a Christmas & Easter church! I find that the more I serve, study and work at following Christ, the more joy I find in life. I also see the amazing results that come from adhering to and abiding by this gospel: strong families, powerful faith, abiding work ethics, unconditional love. These things kindle my desire to stay faithful and active.

How I live my faith

I am asked about my religion regularly. Often by people that I didn't even know were aware of it! I love to answer questions and have religious discussions. I find other religions interesting and have met so many wonderful people in this way. Earlier this year my book, Mormons: Tall Tales & Truths, was published. I share stories and experiences I have had over the years with people curious about the Mormon religion and attempt to clearly define what we do believe while hopefully clearing up misconceptions and myths. The people I meet and know are very curious about our religion and why we live the way we do. I love to invite people to our meetings and activities. I believe that being open and willing to share our beliefs is living my faith. I have served in many callings over the years in our church--but I have to admit my favorite callings were when I got to work with the children. They love to sing and learn about Christ and make Sundays so fun and happy. I also strongly believe that we need to be active and supportive participants in our communities. As a family, we try to work on several projects a year for different non-profit groups in our town. We love our local food bank and initiate food and supply drives with them during the year. We live in a diverse town and it's important that we and our children take an active interest in our neighbors and BE good neighbors.
