Hi I'm Sapphire

I'm a loud person, I love going on adventures, laughing is my favorite thing to do, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I grew up in a very small town in Nebraska, where there aren't many members. Fortunately, I have amazing parents that taught me the Gospel and continue to show me how to live it. Staying active in the church was never difficult for me, I knew of the truth, and could see the blessings from living in accordance to the standards set my our Prophets. I studied at the University of Nebraska Lincoln before I went on a full-time mission for the Church. I served in the Florida Orlando Mission! I loved my mission more than anyone has loved one before or since. It was the greatest decision of my life. I now study communication disorders at Brigham Young University. I'm very active person--I love to try new things and I believe I'm an adrenaline junkie.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Holy Spirit has born witness to me of the truthfulness of this Gospel. By living the commandments and standards of the Church I have been blessed countless of times. I have seen Heavenly Father's mighty hand in my life and have been transformed. I have always heard of the true joy and peace that comes from completely living the Gospel and when I made the decision to do so also, I could finally understand it. When I'm making an effort, that pure joy never leaves. I'm a Mormon not because of what I have heard to be true, but what I personally learned to be true. I can't answer every question asked about the Church, but I can bear testimony of the power that lies within it. I will never be able to express in words how and why I know it's true, it would be similar to explaining the flavor of salt, I just know based on the personal revelations I have received. I'm grateful that I have the Holy Ghost as a constant companion to bless me with those revelations, and to warn me of pitfalls along this path of life. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sorrows and transgressions, and I couldn't be where I am today without His sacrifice. I love my Heavenly Father and wish I could express it in words. How great that day shall be when I can return to Him and be in His presence, until then I try my best to be able to reach just that.

How I live my faith

I have always been blessed to know that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father, because of that knowledge, I always try to live in a way that makes Him a proud Father. I have never been afraid to share the Gospel, so most people know I'm a Latter-day Saint, but I hope they would know through my actions that, I love my Father in Heaven, and that I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I live my faith by strengthening my testimony through prayer and scripture study, as well as being an instrument in His hands through callings and being an example to all those around me.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

We believe that baptism is the gate to eternal life with our Heavenly Father. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we know that it is a special ordinance and covenant one makes with our Father in Heaven. We also believe that baptism must be done by proper authority. We know that Christ gave that authority to His apostles in ancient times. That same priesthood authority was restored to the prophet Joseph Smith. It is through that same authority that one must be baptized in order to live with God again. As a new member decides to make this covenant with God, he/she becomes counted as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
