Hi I'm Melanie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a busy wife, Mom and foster Mom! I graduated from college with a degree in Spanish and a minor in TESL and had the opportunity to teach English in Argentina where I also enjoyed serving a mission for the LDS church. I worked outside the home for many years before we adopted our son and I decided to be a stay at home mom. I enjoy the daily challenges of being a Mom and love to see what a big difference consistent, loving care can make in a child's life. In my spare time I enjoy riding my motorcycle with family, spending time outside, reading and serving in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an LDS family but came to a point in my life where I realized I would need to find out for myself if I really believed what the church taught was true. Through pondering and prayer I was able to gain a testimony that the things which I had been taught were true and that if I did my best to follow them throughout my life, I would grow closer to the Savior and more fully be able to realize my potential and hopefully become more like Him. I feel very fortunate and blessed to be a Mormon. Being a member of this church has taught me that small acts of service and people are what really matter. Although it's not always easy serving in the church, I continue to do so because I know these challenges help me to grow and progress. I also serve to show God how much I appreciate all that He's done for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best person that I can be. Although I'm not perfect and often fall short, I'm grateful to know I can continue to learn and grow and improve. I currently hold a leadership role in the women's organization of the church, teaching and helping to organize events & activities. There are many families moving in and out of the area we live in so I strive to make an effort to welcome them and get to know them through visits in their homes. In our family we strive to have family night once a week, pray and read scriptures together and attend church on Sunday. We've found through experience that when we're doing these things we're happier as a family even though life may not always be easy!
