Hi I'm Scott

I was raised in a non-religious family and an only child, now I'm a Proud Dad of five and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was an only child growing up, and started going to college while working a fulltime job right after High School. I met a wonderful woman that had 4 kids and we were married shortly thearafter. I had virtually no religious background and married into a family that were all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. We had another child together and raised our 5 children together happily. I work in the IT industry and am now enjoying my 4 grandchildren while continuing to raise our last child left at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I did not grow up a member of the church, but when investigating I found many aspects that really made sense to me. I felt the if Heavenly Father were to have a church on the Earth, that church would have members assigned to each other to check up occasionaly. Are there any temporal needs? Are there any spiritual needs?. I felt that He would have a church that does not have a paid clergy, as money seems to be the motive and not the gospel. I felt it was important to go to church with your neighbors. All of these things helped me to form my testimony about the truthfulness of the gospel. I testify that the stories we read in the Book of Mormon are true. That Jesus Christ attoned for the sins of each individual and loves each of us and finally, I testify that we have the chance to live with our Heavenly Father again with our family here on Earth.

How I live my faith

I have the great privilage to teach the 7 year old children that are turning 8. It is a very important year for these kids as they can be babtized at 8 years old. They are so excited each week to here the lesson that I have prepared and i am happy to do it. All members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints can receive callings for various responsibilities in the Ward. They perform those duties on a volunteer basis with no pay. I try to always give 110% to the callings I have been assigned. It is just one of the services that I can perform to spread knowledge and happiness to others.
