Hi I'm Shannon

I'm a foodie who loves dance. I'm a cancer survivor, a public relations professional, and Sun Devil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My story starts in the Valley of the Sun - Phoenix, Arizona - where I was born and raised. I grew up with five brothers and sisters. Six kids might sound like a lot, and it did get noisy and crowded, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I've lived here my entire life, outside of a brief stint in our nation's capital, Washington, DC, where I solidified my love of museums. After graduating from Arizona State University, I worked in politics briefly before landing in public relations. Today I'm an account supervisor at a national agency. Of course, work doesn't consume all of my time - at least not quite. I love all things dance, art, fashion and food. I dance when I can - though I'm not any good - and I never miss an opportunity to try a new restaurant or recipe.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into an LDS family that has been members of the church for many generations. I can't imagine what I would do without the Gospel in my life. It's such a comfort to know who I am, where I came from, and what my purpose here is. I've often wondered what my life would look like if I were not a member of the church, and while it's hard to imagine, it never looks good. A knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and his atoning sacrifice for me has been such a comfort in my life. Knowing that he not only suffered for our sins, but also suffered for every pain we would face in this life has allowed me to seek and receive his guidance and uplifting spirit.

How I live my faith

Every day I strive to live my faith as best I can. Though I sometimes fall short, I aim to treat others as Christ would were he here. To continue learning Church doctrine and history, I regularly attend Sunday meetings, as well as weekday activities. Daily scripture study is a goal of mine, as is daily prayer. I'm actively involved in the Church's womens' organization, which has been a huge blessing to me.
