Hi I'm Norman

I live in Arizona. I am a developer. I love to hike, ski and sports. I am a husband, father, grandfather and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have had the opportunity to live in many places in the USA. The past 30 years I have lived in Arizona which is an outdoor enthusists dream. I like to climb and hike. I have spent countless trips to the lake to ski. I also enjoy watching great sporting events. I am a developer by trade and have been responsible for building over 20,000 homes as part of the company I work for. I am happily married with 4 wonderful children and have several grandchildren with more on the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but chose through my teens and early twenties to not particpate. I struggled gaining a personal testimony by just listening to others. I had to live life and learn for myself that my behavior was self destructive. I feel real blessed to have recognized where I was before I slide further than I did. I remember vividly the circumstances that helped me to wake up and take responsibility for my actions. As I began to come back to church and to read about my Savior Jesus Christ, and to learn that he took upon him my personal sins as he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane, and that he willingly died on the cross and was resurrected the third day so that I could have the opportunity to stand with him before my Heavenly Father to be accountable for my actions I was over whelmed. To think that he would be an advocate on my behalf to the Father if I would accept his sacrifce, repent of my past behavior and be obedient to his commandments. I decided that I was going to live my life so as to not cause him any more pain than what I already had and that I would embrace his gospel with all my heart. His gospel is a gospel of love, of service to others and of charity. The Mormon Church offers me and my family a place to worship with others who have also accepted Jesus Christ as there personal Savior. To learn what he expects of me, to receive the saving ordinances through proper Priesthood authority that will allow me to enter back into his pressence to live with him through out eternity with my family. I love that we have a living Prophet on the earth today who communicates with God and who helps us recognize evil and shows us what we can do to combat those evil influences in the world today that distract us from becoming who our Heavenly Father wants us to be. The Mormon Church teaches that families can be together forever through Heavenly Fathers great plan of happiness. I want that for my family.

How I live my faith

As I read and learn about my Savior Jesus Christ I recognize he would always reach out and help those around him no matter what their station in life. I have tried to follow that example by starting each day on my knees asking my Heavenly Father to guide me to those whom I can assist and to help me recognize when I have been a ministering angel for him. I have been fortunate to serve in many leadership positions in the church where I have had the opportunity to be an influence to many young members in high school and college. I love seeing people succeed. I especially love watching young people set goals and lay out a plan on how to acheive those goals. I love encouraging them and nudging them at times to remember who they are as children of God and that he wants them to succeed and to be happy. I also support many charitable organizations in the community that reach out to the less fortunate around us. I have been very blessed and feel a great responsibility to pass on what I have learned and help those around me gain confidence in themselves, to become self reliant spiritually as well as financially so they too can "pay it foward"
